Via this site you will find my continuing attempts to digitally document various aspects of my creative life
I went to college at two separate times in my life-my early 20's and my early 30's, later earning a bachelor of fine arts degree with a concentration in graphic design in 2008.
i've been a freelance web and graphic designer for about four years now, developing smart, integrated and contemporary design solutions for local clients.
although i am primarily a web designer, my work includes identity design, packaging, typography, logo, web and creative direction with solid technical
production skills and an interest in print and package design.
since 2005, i have also served as art director and designer for my music labels ferrispark and gravid digital, delivering initial concepts through finished art
while ensuring brand identity. though i work for clients and usually have a set of parameters with which to work, i try to challenge myself beyond these requirements.
An early obsession with all things baseball-aside from playing in a Little League, I immersed myself in baseball biographies and historical text-I believe now my main
obssesion was tracking the logos and designations of teams as they changed cities and leagues throughout the years.
I developed a mental encylopedia of team logos-the differentations over the years that were dicated through fashion, uniform funtionability, changing owners, color palettes,
logo redesigns and the like. There was something about me that enjoyed the shift from the Washington Senators to the Huston Astros, and then intently watching and
mentally cataloging the change in color and logos for each's team development over the years, ultimately leading up to the currennt position of baseball as I knew it
from the early 80's and on.
I quickley transitioned from baseball to Freestyle/BMX bike riding, as it's prominence intrigued me as a young man. Always a student of research, bordering on
gaining an obsessive knowledge of all the facets of what my hobies and iterests shifted to-I dove full force into the emerging Freestyle generation of bikes, companies,
their logos and riders. The late 80's was ripe with iconography-from team rider unifomrs to the multitude of frame graphics being grafted onto 12" bikes from
the likes of Bob Haro (himself a graphic designer initially), Hutch, S.E. Racing, C.W., Redline, G.T.and many more.
